How to Apply?
The application process differs slightly depending whether you are an organisation/individual applying for funding for a project (Category A application) or a student applying for a scholarship (Category B application).
IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL APPLICANTS:
Following recent significant changes as a result of the implementation of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering of Financing of Terrorism Act, trust accounts are now subject to the Act.
The cornerstone of the Act is that legal firms which hold trust accounts know who their clients are and where the funds come from. There is also an obligation to know where and to whom the funds held are being paid out to.
As a result of these changes, for audit purposes, the requirement to supply the following documentation with every application will be strictly imposed as confirmation of the identity of the applicant, commencing from the 30 September 2019 funding round:
For organisations applying for project funding -
1) A copy of the most recent annual accounts;
2) A copy of the organisation’s bank deposit slip, showing the name of the payee and the bank account number;
3) A certified copy of the passport or a drivers licence and bank statement or utility bill for the person who submits the application on behalf of the organisation.
For individuals applying for student grants or project funding:
1) A copy of the bank deposit slips, showing the name of the payee and the bank account number (does not apply where the payment is being made directly to IRD in respect of a student loan and Studylink invoice/receipt is provided);
2) A certified copy of the passport or a drivers licence and bank statement or utility bill for the person who submits the application.
Certification can be done by a solicitor of Justice of the Peace and is a free service.
